Throughout this process, I will encourage you to be open and communicate any questions or concerns. Your consent can be withdrawn for any action at any point. I will try to adjust my communication style to yours, but I am autistic and may default to silence.
Arrival: If you arrive early, please wait until your appointment time to enter the shop. Once in the studio (The Eat Room), I’ll direct you to our waiting area where you can look at our menu, sliding-scale pricing sheet, snd settle in.
Paperwork: I’ll snap a photo of your ID and send a consent form through your email.
Design Confirmation and Stencil Placement: After my station is set up, we will begin on the stenciling process. We’ll go over your design, placement, and size. I will recommend ideal placement and sizing for healing and execution, but it is ultimately your decision. You can take as much time and privacy as needed. I will clean the area with soap, shave it, and then disinfect with alcohol. The stencil is applied using an application cream and an ink stencil that is placed on the skin and peeled off, almost like a stamp. It is perfectly normal to move the stencil a few times. After the stencil is on and you’re happy with placement, the skin will need to dry for 10-15 minutes.
Tattooing: We’ll discuss the most comfortable position possible while leaving the placement area accessible for me to tattoo. I’ll ask you if you’re ready to begin and I’ll run a test line. After you give me the okay, we’ll continue. I’ll do my best to check-in with you periodically but if you need a break sooner, please let me know. You are welcome to take breaks, stretch, use the restroom, or eat/drink at any point and as many times as you’d like - but please communicate with me first. You can also expect me to take breaks as well. As an autistic tattooer, I sometimes need more frequent breaks and ask that you respect my ability to manage my needs as well. You can chat, read, listen to music, or rest during your appointment.
Post-Tattoo: After your tattoo, I may ask for your consent to take photos. Some clients have more sensitive skin and can be prone to redness and inflammation, which doesn’t make for an ideal portfolio photo. If this is the case, I may request a healed photo and opt out of taking fresh photos.
Payment: After photos, I will meet you at the counter where you’ll pay based on a sliding-scale. I will explain aftercare instructions and provide you with written aftercare instructions linked to my aftercare guide.

I take a consent-based approach to my tattooing practice. This means I will do my best to clearly explain every step of the process and will not proceed without your explicit consent. Non-consensual actions will not be tolerated between us or in the space. You have the right to say no, withdraw consent, and question any part of the process at any point without judgement. Conversely, I reserve the right to revoke consent to the tattoo process and ask clients/visitors to leave at any point if I feel that my policies, process, or personal boundaries are being disrespected.
As a client you have:
The right to a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
The right to equal treatment and service, free of judgement.
The right to respectful communication (including the right to be addressed by your preferred name/pronouns, name, and to be in an environment free of hate speech and/or harassment).
The right to an artist technically suited to your tattoo request (or a reference to someone that is). Your satisfaction means more to me than my wallet.
The right to ask clarifying questions about the tattoo process (and technical decisions that go into a design or placement limitation, and to have them answered with patience and respect).
The right to be asked for approval as to your final design (and regarding changes your artist may consider during your tattoo session).
The right to be asked for consent about physical contact and touch needed to perform your tattoo, including adjustment or removal of clothing.
The right to request and be provided with provisions toward your personal privacy and comfort (to my best ability).
The rights to have your accessibility needs met (to the extent I am able to provide them).
The rights to confidentiality around personal and private information (including the right to be asked for consent before identifying photos of you are taken or posted).
The right to self advocacy (to speak up and be heard if anything during your session or in regards to you overall shop experience does not feel right).

Unless you choose a pre-made flash piece, your design will not be available prior to your appointment. I tattoo both custom & pre-made flash designs but I do not do cover-ups or reworks.
Designs will be drawn in my style and reference images will not be copied or re-interpreted.
If you’re unhappy with your design, please say so. Remember, this is permanent and it’s YOUR body. Plus, I work on an Ipad, so most designs can be tweaked pretty quick and easily. If redraw is necessary, we may need to reschedule.

Bring your ID, a form of payment, water, headphones/earplugs, and a small packaged snack (a granola bar, meal replacement, etc).
You can also bring 1 guest, who is able to accompany you during throughout entire session with your consent. Please limit guests to 1. Noisy or inappropriate guests will be asked to leave.
Wear dark, loose fitting, comfortable clothing that allows you to easily expose the area being tattooed. Click here to access my pre-tattoo guides.

The non-refundable booking deposit is paid prior to confirming every appointment. The deposit goes towards the final price unless it is forfeited (explained in Cancellations, Late, & No-Show Policy).
The non-refundable booking deposit is a holding deposit to hold your appointment date/time and allows me to begin working on your design. The deposit does not pay for the design itself and is for the specific tattoo agreed upon in the initial consultation.
The deposit is non-refundable and if you decide not to pursue an appointment, cancel your appointment, you don't schedule within 30 days, or to completely change your design, your deposit will be void and will not be refunded.
Your deposit is only valid for the specific design and appointment that was accepted and written in your consultation form. If you change the design after the initial consultation (other than minor changes at my discretion) your deposit may be voided & your appointment may be cancelled.
I understand emergencies happen, so please contact me directly if necessary.
-
Late/No-Show: If you are over 15 minutes late, your deposit will be forfeited and you will be unable to reschedule without another deposit. If you no-show, your deposit will be forfeited. I understand some of you may be traveling for your appointment, so contact me asap if you’re running late. I understand that things happen.
Canceling & Rescheduling: You are permitted to reschedule one time before your deposit is forfeited as long as you cancel at least 72 hours before your appointment. If you cancel your appointment without a 72 hour notice, your deposit will be voided.
Reschedule date must be agreed upon within 7 days of cancelling or deposit will be voided.
